So I've had this skimmer for a little over 6 months. When I first set it up it worked great. A few months down the road it started to produce less bubbles from the aeration in the back. I took it apart and cleaned everything and it seemed to fix it. A couple of days ago I noticed it hasn't been producing any skim and saw that again it wasn't producing bubbles like it should. I took it all apart at least 10 times and it still is not working correctly. I have a video of it if someone could tell me how to post one here. It's currently a .mp4 file.

When you cleaned it did you make sure to clean out the small white tube the hose hooks to on the pump? That is where mine gets buildup that I need to use a paper clip and vinegar to clean out.

You mean the plastic piece that the yellow tube connects to on the top? I have cleaned every piece. When it's running it's creating bigger bubbles in the back versus the fine microbubbles it should be creating.

No, where the yellow tube connects to the pump down in the skimmer.

Make sure the yellow tube is connected to the skimmer pump and also make sure that you reprimed the skimmer after cleaning it by filling the skimmer with water then holding shut the yellow tube to get the pump working and drawing in water

Yeah I cleaned that out as well.

The pump is primed and water is coming out of the outlet but it just wouldn't produce any micro bubbles

If it's not producing bubbles the yellow tubing is not fitted on properly on the pump bc that's where the air is drawn and that's how the pump produces bubbles

I uploaded the video. The yellow tube is completely pushed down into the pump. It is producing bubbles. Just not the microbubbles like its supposed to

I've had an issue with the connection of the yellow tubing and the pump. I used a ziptie and tightened the tube over the little piece on the pump that it goes on. Maybe there's too much wiggle room between it and not a tight seal producing huge bubbles

Did you email the maker of the skimmer? They are pretty fast in responding to question like this? Just a question, did you feel that the pump is not as strong as before when it was working good? One time I did not assemble the impeller right and it was not spinning freely...other time I forgot the gasket :-). Good luck with your troubleshooting

I would think it would have to be an issue with the airline hook up or the needle wheel impeller. Could the impeller be broken?

I just recently bought one of these, and I'm having similar issues. I've read great things about this skimmer, however its not produced near the skimmate I expected.
