RE POST in new category: So I recently moved across country and took the opportunity to re do the setup of my Biocube 29. First off, no more bioballs thanks to recommendations and nigh nitrate levels previously. I am replacing them with an inTank media and fuge basket. My question is, without the bioballs, will everything be okay with just the baskets? I am placing (in the media basket) filter floss, purigen, and chemi pure elite. In the fugebasket I was planning Chaetomorpha. Am I missing anything? what would you recommend?

I have 7.6 pounds currently in a 30 gallon tank. I plan to add about 20 more pounds....

Depending on your maintenance routine and scaping preference will determine how much live rock u need. Less live rock more maintenance, and vice versa, Unless you run bio pellets or something similar. good luck with your setup

Because that is what inTANK has on the recommended set up

Of course they're going to recommend both! Because they sell both! Mo money for them ;) You don't NEED both. The Chemipure Elite has a Phosphate remover in it along with carbon. PuriGen removes phosphates. Why would you use 2 items to remove phosphates when 1 does the job and then some?

FWIW, this is a pic of my year old Bio Cube. I cut the back compartments out of it. The only things I have on this tank is a Reefbreeders Value LED, Koralia K2, and 50w heater. I do a 5 g water change every two weeks with Aqua Craft's Bio Sea salt mix....
