need help 50 gal salt tank has a brownish cloudy water and my blue hippo tang is resting or stressed. what should i do?
Assure ammonia is not elevated and verify with reliable test kit but this may not be a water quality issue but rather filtration and even location.
Is tank at or near a window? If so, this time of the year there is a change sun direction and increased UV causing spores.
Is tank reef ready or standard tank with basic filtration?
Are you able to post 2-3 pics under bright white light intensity to offer clues?

We need pictures and more info on your tank. But a hippo tang in a tank that size is a red flag. If the water is brown you should be doing water changes at the least.

^ this, you need to be doing big time water changes, uv and drop some activated carbon in. Welcome.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! Water tests and water changes are often a good place to start. Also, understanding how your water got to be where it is now is a worthwhile investigation.

Welcome to R2R! Sorry to hear about that - Like mentioned above, please post photos of the tank so we can get a better idea of what you are talking about.
