Help with DIY LED with LDD drivers

I want to use 4 Royal Blue Luxeon M 12 watts with ldd drivers. My question is how many ldd-1000 should I use. Also, which power supply is recommended if I want to connect a storm controller to it as well. Thanks.

I believe you can run 2 leds per LLD at 24v or all 4 at 48v. However from what I have read you have to play around with the input voltage (may have to go as higher than 48v on the input) to get the output up to 48V.

I added exactly this to my halide. I went with 2 LDD 1000's and a Meanwell CLG-150-36a power supply. Check out my build thread for pics.

Thanks for the replies. Poseidon, if I were to use the CLG-150-36a, would I be able to dim the LEDs to simulate sunrise/sunset?

Yes, with the help of a controller. The Storm, Typhon, or any of the other PWM 5V controllers would work just fine.

In my build I can manually dim the LED's, but since they are for supplement, not my main lighting source, that is just fine with me. Be careful with the Luxeon's, mine produce a significant amount of PAR, I'd say close to 50% of the PAR that is produced by the 250W Radium bulb.

The LDD gets the power and signal for how much power to send to the LEDs. (Ignore the ..., they are there for place holders.)

Another question for anyone who can help. How do I connect a fan to the setup? directly to the power supply or through the driver board?

Not sure what you are planning on using for a driver board but if it has a fan function that is one way you could go.
Personally I like the idea of powering it off the power supply and using a temp controller circuit to manage the fan. That way it could run after the light is off if the heat is still way up there. Check out the way stevesleds.com suggests managing fan control...

I'm using the coralux 4-up board with two ldd-1000h. As for the power supply would this work? Mean Well RS150 48VDC Power Supply | Reef LED LightsReef LED Lights

Can someone post a link for the fan control? I want to control the fan base on the temps.
