I am making a reef tank and wants to know if I need a reef capable light or what kind of light do I need. Please help and thank you

You may want to check equipment forums. Lighting is based on what you are looking to have in tank and what you want it to look like. You do not need a light in sump unless you are planning to run a refugium.

yes i am running a refugium
