Help with frogspawn hitch-hikers!

My forgspawn hasn't opened for the last couple of days. last night I noticed somthing on the stem closer to the frag plug. i looks like barnacle and sponge had a baby! Anybody have an id on it? should I just smash it?

The pic is pretty dark, so it's hard to say for sure, but I'd guess it's a sponge.

Are you able to get pictures with flash on?

Try shining a flashlight on while taking a picture.
