So I've had this frogspawn (my first and only LPS so far) for about 1.5 months. It's been really happy until today. It was fine this morning, then I did my typical 20% water change and a couple hours later noticed a few white fluffy areas and it wasn't open as much as usual. I tried to grab one of the "fluffs" and realized it was a sloughed polyp. I removed two of the sloughed polyps and in pic #3 you can see a third. I checked my water parameters and everything is good. My water change was perfectly routine, nothing different. The only thing I can say is that this coral gets exposed to air with every water change bc it's higher in my tank. But that's never been a problem before. First pic is from a few weeks ago, last 2 are from tonight. Any advice would be appreciated.

IMO it looks fine. I will say that if theres any way to keep it submerged during your water changes do so. It doesn't hurt them to be exposed to air for a short time, but make sure its not a lengthy exposure. Again, just my opinion, but if you see anything excreting or white substances or anything coming from the coral, don't remove it, just let it do its thing. Less is more, you'll often do more harm than good. The frag probably just got a bit irritated during that water change for whatever reason. If it deteriorates over the next few days, then I would be concerned.

Thanks! Yeah it gets just barely exposed at the tail end of the water change. So maybe I just won't pull off that last 1/2 gallon.

I could move the frag for changes, it's on a plug that is well seated in the rock so I never glued it down. The rock is my largest rock in the tank, so not really going anywhere, lol.

Another option would be to gently agrevas it so it has a chance to shrink up and expell it's water so the coral is reday to be exposed. Spot feeding it will greatly enhance it's healthough and growth.
