I purchased a hammer coral from a LFS 5 days ago. Shortly after placing in my tank, the polyps receded and haven't extended since. It's on a frag rack in an area with good flow and PAR about 100. Water parameters are:
Alk: 9-9.4
Ca: 420
Mg: 1400
ammonia: 0.0 to 0.1
nitrite: 0.0
nitrate: 5-10
phosphate: 0.05 to 0.1
salinity: 1.025
pH: 8.0
temp: 78-79

I'm feeding with 30 mL Reef Energy AB+ daily and reef chili/reef roids every 2-3 day. I also dose 12 mL NoPox daily to keep nitrates and phosphates in check. I've attached a pic.

I think parameters are fine and am guessing I should give it time but wanted to see if anyone had other ideas. All other corals look good and fish are fine.

I find my hammer corals are very sensitive to flow, so maybe put in a low flow area of the tank and see if that changes the polyp extension. Good Luck!

I have a frogspawn that went downhill over the summer when nitrates were high. Since I've gotten the nitrates under control it has started to slowly come back. Maybe I can move the hammer near the frogspawn since the frogspawn seems to like that area.

Yeah try low flow area and it takes time for them to adjust mine done the same it's looking lovely now
