Hi all,

Having issues with my plating Montis. They appear to slowly bleach from the center over weeks then lose the tissue. Then some algae begins growing on them. All other acros and branching montis are fine. Doesn’t seem to be affecting encrusting montis either.

I can’t find pests like nudis or others - did see some planaria on the rocks but don’t seem to very going on the corals.

This has happened to 3 montis so far over the last month. I have one purple monti that it’s not hitting yet.

Tank is approx 9 months old so still young. 100 gal waterbox with approx 75 gal volume after rock

Params:
Temp 79 (keep higher for the summer as it will creep up to 80 in the day)
Salinity: 1.025
Alk: 8.0 - test daily and stays between 7.9 - 8.2
Mag - 1350 (this is as low around 1250 but brought up over last few days)
Cal: 450
Nitrate: 5 - 6.5
Phos: 0.03 - 0.05 (some patches of hair algae are popping up so I assume it could be higher)
Ph: 8.15 am - 8.45 by end of day

I dose 5 ml of all for reef daily. Not a lot but all corals are frags and young

Here’s a not so great pic of one that i fragged up to see if it would come back

Any ideas welcome! If I’m missing info let me know!

How long have you had the monti's? Did you measure your par or is it from the manfacturer? IME slowly losing color then losing tissue could be e a low light issue.

Thanks. I measured par with a meter - apogee - but I can double check again. I’m running 2 radion pro xr15 and a AI grow blade + glow blade. All are at 70%. I do have them lower in the bottom third. I’ve had them for at least 5 months and all growing until the last month.

Since you have 3 of them so close, personally I would move 2 to other spots to see how they do with different flow/light perspective. hope someone can offer better advice good luck
