Hi Everyone,

My Hammers and Anemones never seem to grow and are shrinking. I am also getting some algae growth which I am attacking called Prymnesium parvum. My goal is to get my levels to a good place and attack the algae with UV and other things.

I am assuming I need to get my phosphate to 1.2 but what else?

Thanks T

So I’m new to this, but I’ll give some advice and maybe others will chime in with better or more correct answers. Your alkalinity is a tad low and could be raised a little. To my knowledge, algae feeds on phosphates which would explain why it’s 0 so I would recommend against raising it, at least drastically. How much light are you giving the tank? Could you go a day or two without light in the tank? You will likely see an improvement based on this or maybe even three days but this is all merely a guess for me. I’m not claiming to have the answers but these are thoughts running through my mind, and if I’m wrong then hopefully someone chimes in with the appropriate response.
