I need recommendations on lights for two tanks. One is a 25 gallon lagoon and the other is a 10 gallon. I bought two on Amazon (hipargero) and I can't figure out how to use them. Also, they don't work on rimmed tanks and the 10-gallon is rimmed.

Currently they have a fish and some Zoa frags. I am looking at staying in the few hundred range for each. I am new to salt water lights, so making them easy to control is a huge plus.

How many watts is it the 30 watt light? The 30 watt will work on your 10 gallon, for the 25 you need 50 watts at least.

Why doesn't it work on rimmed tank? You mean the clamp is not wide enough? For that you can cut the lip off the rim, then it will fit. Thats what I do its what many of us do.

I was wondering if cutting it would cause issues. The 25 gallon is 150 watts and the 10 is 36 watts. I can't figure out either of them. I am a software developer, so it is frustrating that technology is defeating me.

I think the 36 watt will work on the rimmed tank. I didn't look at it close enough.
