I have a well established 120g SPS tank, and will be starting up an 80g frag tank soon. My plan is to seed the new tank from my current tank with some live rock, by buying new live rock and placing it in my current tank’s sump for 2 months. However I want to be sure that whatever rock I add will not cause a phosphate spike or create other issues in my current tank, and I’d prefer to not have to add another month or two by curing the rock first.

Can anyone suggest any rock that would work well for this? I’ve had good success adding reefcleaners Florida pre cured rock in the past but it seems that’s not currently avail.

Welcome any thoughts, thx!

My cycle with KP Aquatics premium live rock shipped damp was ~ 1 week. Some people who get Tampa Bay live rock shipped in water have no cycle.
