I'm at a loss for what's going on with the overall vibrance of my reef. It seems like all fish and corals, (SPS,LPS,POLYPS) all turn pale after a few months in my tank. I do run ZEOvit but had the issue but had the same issue before the ZEOvit system was started.

Equipment list:

Tank 60x30x26 A.G.E. Rimless

ATI Powermodule with the following bulbs: 10x54

5 KZ super blue
3 KZ new gen
2 Fiji

Skimmer:

Bubble King 200 Super Marin

Paramaters:

CA 410
KH 6.5
MG 1350
K 400

P04 has ranged from 0.00 to .22 and back to .05 with no change in dullness

I feed a mixture of frozen food I make myself (shrimp, oysters, scallops, mussels and nori) I feed the tank 2-4X a day.

Fish list
17 Anthias
4 Tangs
2 Clowns
5 Wrasses

I'm out of ideas and would like some help!

What are your other water params? Ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, PH and salinity?
Are you feeding any vitamins to the fish?
Are you feeding the corals?
Any other additives?
What salt mix are you using?

I am grasping at straws too, but it seems like maybe a lack of a mineral or vitamin.

I am not feeding vitamins to the fish, which ones do you recommend?
Corals are feed by the fish poo, I feed a ton each day and the bigger fish can crank out the poo.
I use the DD pro salt
Which minerals or vitamins do you recommend?

Thanks!!!!

Can you post a pic?

Sure here are a few.

my watchmen goby for the longest time was basically white as hell, guess around 2 years or so. i started feeding with rods food about 3 months he is now straight up yellow as they come. also the fin color is brighter. not sure if it's directly related to the food 100% , but i think the mixture of food and algaes in the mixture is what did it. looking at your tank , i can assume you probably don't have all that much algae or beneficial algae if there is such a thing for fish to eat at? maybe ? Tank looks Sick by the way, jealous

Honestly I think your tank looks pretty good, the only pale I see is in the growth tips. I am unfamiliar with those bulbs but could it be just too white of a combo for your liking? How old are the bulbs?

I sorta agree with Skinz. from the looks of that purple tang, that is a good colored fish. here is mine for reference. he is jsut over 5" and very fat.

I feed mine almost exclusively formula 2 flakes from Ocean Nutrition. all of my fish are very vibrant, fat and happy.

EDIT: one thing that may slightly concern me is the KH at 6.5 most ULNS systems seem to perform best in the 7.5 to 8.0 range.

Thanks for the replies. The bulbs are only 4 months old so I don't think that would be the cause.

I'll slowly raise my alk to 7.5 over the next few weeks. This should be easy to do since I run the balling method via Profilux controller/doser.
