What would you recommend to raise alkalinity? I have these 2 they are a couple years old from my last tank before I moved but I don’t think they expire. I probably wouldn’t need to add any of the calcium bottle but is this a good one to use here?

Those are ok, but just keep in mind they are not properly designed for 1:1 dosing, despite the claim. It’s an unusually simple thing that Seachem got wrong.

Not trying to hijack Randy Holmes here but do watch this, I’m probably not correct but unless I’m testing wrong which I don’t get calcium often, but when I do with an api test I’m always Aaron’s 480-500+ although like I said this is just drop testing with older api.

But in my tank that is dosing right now I’m almost twice the amount of alk, out part two, than part one for calcium.

Also don’t forget to make sure you have nitrates and phosphates present!

Everything was fine when I had the light alittle lower except I my zoas were reaching. I suppose I could start with going back to running the light on the lps grow at 60 percent like I was before to see if that changes anything.

Would agree with trying to scale lights back a little bit, and hoping that wasn’t bad advice that I dose very heavy on the alk compared to calcium, maybe Randy Holmes can correct me if this is bad as I’ve often wandered if I need to use a little more part one for reasons unrelated to calcium that could affect the overall balance.

FYI I say it a lot but when one person was selling me phosguard, and all the sudden my tank looks way worst then I post and Randy Holmes straightened me out and Dinos and algae in the sense of it being a problem kinda worked themselves out slowly over time as I removed media that was stripping my nitrates and phosphates.

Plus that brownish acro I bought for twenty bucks looks nice enough after a while, I bought two more.

Anemones such as magnifica often close up part way through the light cycle when they have potential internal infections. I would not assume that’s the case here, but they may both suffer as photosynthesis proceeds for some reason.

The bottles say dose 1ml of each bottle for every 6.5 gallons every one or two days. Im thinking just to start slow ill dose 1ml of each bottle everyday for a week and see how the levels change. Also debating on skipping my water change this week since my nitrates came in pretty low to see if that helps at all.

Are you talking about reef Fusion? If so, ignore such generic advice.

Use a calculator such as this one to determine what dose adds 0.2 dKH in your tank.

If we assume your tank volume is 10 gallons actual water, then the dose is 0.6 mL per day.
