I'm just stating to get into sps and have a few frags on my frag rack that I want to get into the tank. The only thing is I'm not sure where to put them. I have a mixed reef with T5 lighting so I'm planning on putting them up top but I'm not sure how the stuff I have grows. I've got a pink birds nest, green slimer, ora scripps green staghorn, ora red planet, a green acro of some sort, and a few different color monti caps. For example, I know the red planet is a tabling acro so should I put it off the side of a rock vs on the very top? I know some people move them around untill the corals are happy, but I'd have to glue them to get them to stay.

With sps you can place them in different places and get different results like color or in the case of monti caps the shape. Every cap I have up high just grows out horizontally but when I see other people place them in lower light areas the start growing up and cupping reaching for the light. I have the red planet up high on a frag rack and I get more green than red.

I also have two birdsnest and have one on the sand and the other literally 3 inches from the surface of the water under 250w 14k MH. They both grow but the one up high has greater polyp extension.

The pink B/N will probably need a lot of light to hold it's pink color.
