Hi all,

Looking at getting a 4 foot peninsula built and have zero idea on plumbing the thing. So far from my research I've decided that a herbie design is what I'm going for (I believe Waterbox peninsulas use this) however I don't know what size pipes to use return pipe size or gate valve size and what parts exactly I need between fixing these pipes to the 3 holes in the tank top and bottom. Another thing I noticed with both Waterbox and Red Sea Peninsula tanks is they both do not have the sump directly below the drains, is this purely for reducing noise or is there another thought behind this? Thanks.

you can use this to estimate the flow to the sump you can expect through holes of different sizes, then you'll need to determine the size of return pump you need.
