Drains would go to the left side of the sump with the skimmer, if it will fit. Return pump in the last section.

Yep got that bit, it’s the whole design of the pipe work, I’ve read about the herbie system and guessing this is right for this but I’ve got the drain durso and return pipe so what’s the other hole for? Emergency or main drain?

Herbie system consists of two drains, one main and one emergency. And one return. Your drain pipe in DT should be lower than emergency drain. Some would like their emergency drain trickle and some dry.

I would set it up with Herbie + return.

Unions on all pipes. Main drain (siphon) as straight down to the sump as possible (no horizontal runs etc) and with a gate valve on it for adjusting it to the right flow. I like to have the second drain have a trickle but if you cut it above the water level of the sump as is standard for an emergency drain it won't be silent. So if you'd like to be able to hear when the emergency drain is being used, it's probably best to run it dry.
