Help with Refugium Lighting; Kessil H160 refugium vs a360x refugium vs a360x Tuna Blue

I have a trigger 20c sump with a refugium 19.5″ x 6″ and the water level is 8". Is the Kessil H160 sufficient to grow Chaeto and what height above the water line would provide the best coverage for growth running opposite schedule to the Radion G5 XR15W blue.

Yes, it will do a nice job. You may have to play with height a little to get the coverage you need, but 6" to 8" is a good start, but that depends on spillage. Set it to "grow" for best results.

Go to a home improvement store and get a waterproof LED shop light, preferably one that's cool blue or no lower than 5000k. I use a 20watt on my 5 gal fuge, and it cost $10.

The Kessils do not have some mystical technology that optimizes them for reef use, and some of the shop lights use SMD chips that are more efficient than Kessils, which *are not* that efficient..

So, a couple 20watt shop lights will put out more PAR than a A160, which I recall is 40watt total.

I use a h160 on my 12x18 fuge with two a360x On my display. I’ve gotten to the point where I can only have the fuge light on for 4 hours a day to keep nitrates and phosphates above zero. (On a 3 month old tank, with only small frags)

Yeah, just depends on your bio load and feeding habits.
