I have an JBJ RF-45 AIO, and it was recommended to me to add the Orbit 2 as a wave maker. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I have to run it at 1% (random high) to not get a dust storm I have tried multiple locations to no avail; getting an even flow across my softies. On 2% it lifts the rock anemones edges, not sure if that is good. I am beginning to think I would have been better off with two power heads that allow me to have multiple angles to choose from and different settings. I am looking to replace the orbit and for suggestions for powerheads (which are not over powered) that would have some sort of WIFI or I can add to the mobius app.
The tank is still young (9mth old) I was so very fortunate by taking it slow, to not have any issues with any kind of ugly stage so far. My issues always seem to be around gear.
Looking forward to your suggestions

I would recommend a nero 3 or mp10. Both run on mobius.
The jbj aio tanks are usually square compared to some long rectangular tanks.
Your orbit powerhead is more geared towards a long tank and running it on the side for lengthwise flow. Also your sand could be the culprit. Fine sand with powerheads will usually dune up like the sahara. Even with a long tank, the mp10 will make fine sand dune up. Its recommened to use special grade at a minimum for medium to high flow tanks. I have a mix of special grade and crushed coral to combat the issue of sand movement.

thanks! Can sand be changed at this point?

Sure it can. I would try the new powerhead first though.

You will need to use some holding containers or tanks to transfer coral and livestock into. And another for the rock. Then have at it and replace the sand. Make sure to rinse the new sand until the water comes out clear theres a lot of small silt that causes algae and nutrient problems.
