Hello! Just planning out a sump for a new build. DT is about 73" and the sump will be 36" long, 12" wide, 15" tall.
Due to upstream plumbing routing, I would like to have both the return pump and the roller mat on the one side of the sump hence the "down and back" flow of the sump.
Planned equipment:
-Bubble Magus G2 Med. Roller Mat
-Bubble Magus Curve 5 Extreme Skimmer
-2x Eheim 150W heaters
-AI Axis 90 Return Pump
I've attached a diagram here of my current plan. Looking for critique here. As well, just a couple of questions:
1. Do I need anything beyond the baffles around the refugium? will algae spill over?
2. I see people putting in aquamesh in various places. I presume this is to remove bubbles. Should I put a sheet between the last "under" and "over" baffles?
3. Would the 4" channel from the skimmer back to the return pump be too restrictive? (I made this narrower in order to make the refugium larger but can easily change it)
4. Any commercially available "adjustable baffles"?
5. Anything further that might be warranted to eliminate bubbles going into the pump?
Thanks folks!
