Added my first coral 3 days ago. It has been retracted most of the time. It does open up at night and extends its feeders, but stays closed during the day. I have it in a low light low flow area of the tank. Is this normal stress from being put in a new tank? Is there more I should be doing, or will it open in the day with time?

Water parameters seem to be fine.

Ph 7.7
Dkh 7.1
Calcium 458
Magnesium 1320
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 2.5
Phosphate .015

Most likely still acclimating. The light and flow are too low for it. I’ll post a pic of mine, started with 3 heads 6 months ago. It is in the middle of the tank with medium indirect flow. In my LPS dominant tank, I have my magnesium at 1400-1440 and your ph should be between 8.1-8.3, as well as your alk should be in the upper 8 to 9 range. If you slowly raise your magnesium you will find the alk will come up as well. Just watch that it is slow bc big swings are not tolerated well! Salinity differences between LFS and our tanks also make acclimating take a little longer sometimes! Let it settle in for a few
days and then move it for more flow and light! Give it some more time then and see how it responds!

Best at mid tank under moderate light and water flow and assure phosphates do not get elevated as well as feeding them 2x a week. I feed mine mysis shrimp

Welcome to the forums!,

I find most things take 3-5 days to wake up fully. I would take it as a good sign the feeders are coming out already, and I'd definitely feed it some mysis 1-2x a week
