Good Morning,

Fairly new to the saltwater world. I have a 20gal waterbox. I cycled the tank back in Jan. Since them I have had fish in the tank. I recently had a issue with salinity in the tank but that's an issue that i can solve. My problem is my nitrates are at 0 making me think my tank did not cycle correctly. Nitrites are also 0. My ph also hovers around 7.8. Any advice. If I need to cycle the tank again...how should I go about it with rocks and in the tank?

If the tank has been up since January and you have fish in it then it is cycled. There is no way a tank has been up that long and hasn’t cycled. If you want to double check you can check the ammonia levels in the tank.

Or the nitrates can be low because they’re being processed by denitrifying bacteria. I’ve had tanks that with the flow turned off you could actually watch the rocks bubble.

Dont worry about nitrItes as they pertain to freshwater and also indicated you are using an Api kit. Best way to verify is to take a water sample to a pet store than does Not use Api kit and see what readings they come up with for comparison
