I just started a saltwater tank and I'm cycling the tank currently but when I checked the parameters to see how the cycle is doing and suddenly my ammonia spiked to 8ppm plus I don't know what to do I've heard that this happens during the cycle but i don't know if I should just let it play out or not.

Can we have some more information please? Are you dosing ammonia? Added any bacteria? Dry rock I assume?
