Ty so much! I think it may be the container I’m using to mix water. I’ve wiped it down before and hosed it down with tap water, but never anything more than that. I just tested the water I’m mixing and it came out at .16 like within a couple minutes with the read sea PO4 tester.

But that doesn't necessarily mean it is the barrel.
What you are suggesting is that Phosphates are leeching from the barrel into your new water. I think it more likely be the water source.
Is that a pectin is all the way in the right?Even if your testing is off (very likely) .16 isn't that bad. This is my tank that usually is around .15 - with RowaPhos (Nitrates are 5-10)

Ok so I got it figured out, it was my water source!If the RO water is zero, consider Lathanam Chloride instead of GFO or Rowaphos. Much simpler. But go slowly. Will drop Po4 dangerously fast if dosed to heavy
Question, how do I go about doing water changes now that I got my water problem solved? I would like my phosphates between .03-.05 but they are all the way on .16. Should I do a 20% water change or would that be maybe be too much of a change, and end up hurting my sps because of too big of a drop in phosphates too fast? I find that water changes do little to reduce Phosphates.
So are you defining "source water" as the water going into your RODI system or are you detecting phosphates on the output of your RODI system?
