Yes, there's def a chance. Do you have a picture? Nems can come back from some pretty bad beatings.
What you might need to be careful about are stinging cells going through powerheads and spreading through the water. I've read a number of threads about nems going through powerheads and the stinging cells stinging fish and other critters in the tank. Might need to keep an eye out and maybe water change.

Don't count him out just yet. Maybe seclude him somehow so he can't float away again. If possible, QT just in case he does die and you don't want him releasing anything into the tank. I think there's a chance he'll pull through!
