Hey guys.. I have a 180 with drilled duel overflows. I can't decide if I should plumb with the herbie or durso method.

Durso method super easy. I'll have one drain and one return on each side

Herbie.. if I do this should I do a duel herbie one on each side and then have the returns come up through the back of the tank?

I really can't decide which one so any help or suggestions would be great. I like the herbie but don't know if I can do this with duel overflows..

I use Dursos and have no complaints whatsoever.
Both drains work equally as good, it is all personal preference
and what style will fit in your overflows..

I have plumbed a 350g with dual herbies. was a little tricky to get both tuned in to the right flow, but once set it was solid. more silent and reliable than a durso.

I run my DIY dursos' never have had a problem. Did notice they are quieter and more reliable if you run 1 1/4" all the way to the bulkhead. I originally built them with just 1" - worked but now it is better.

So, you have two holes drilled on each side of the tank?

Running two siphon lines is (potentially) a lot of flow... How big are your return pumps?

I think the herbie is a better choice. My tank only has two holes so I use them for the drains and run a line up and over the top for the return.

Back when I had my 210 up and running that it what I did. Was running for ~ 9 months before I took it down (( moved )), and never had an issue during that time.
