Hi everyone, going to be dipping the toes back into salt very soon. Been about 10 years since our last saltwater setup.

Currently running a freshwater planted tank and realised how much was missing the saltwater scene. So been watching a lot of YouTube and speaking to retailers as to planning setup and costs involved.

So here's what we are thinking. Have space for a 3ft tank maximum.

• AquaOne Reefsys 255 (Tank, Sump, Cabinet)
• Light - AI Prime 16HD
• AI Prime Light Mounts
• VCA - AI Prime Visor
• Bubble Magus HD Curve Extreme 3 Protein Skimmer
• AI Nero 3 submersible pump 7,570lph
• Eheim 150w Thermocontrol Heater - Electronic
• AI Orbit 2 Cross-flow pump
• Aquaforest Bio Sand
• Carib Sea Life Rock

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Kind regards,

Welcome :) :) !! All good choices. Only thing I am not a fan of is the CaribSea life rock. I used it once and it just started dissolving after about a year. Also the purple bacteria that it is painted with didn't speed up the cycle process at all unfortunately. It was no quicker than the tanks that I used regular marco dry rock to cycle.

Welcome to R2R! I agree with @Waters about the LifeRock. They actually started to flake and leave bits of purple and black flakes on the sand and they were not as porous as quarried, base or live rock.
