Hi,

When the lights went out today I noticed a hard noice of something ticking against the glass.
I thought is was a hermid laying on his back but I saw 2 elegance hermids fighting.. at least that is what I tought.
Later when I looked a third hermid joined the party and just now I see hundreds of little plangton like stuff floating true the tank and it is moving! so it was mating
So that must be baby hermids right?
Do they survive in a reef tank or not?
I have got a ton of baby snails too so they got loads of shells to steal.

Some how it seems my tank is a perfect for these little critters.
My trochus, nasssarius, and turbo fluctosa snails all spawned a few weeks ago.
I got hundreds of them!

No one nows if baby hermids survive in a reef tank?

I was under the impression that hermits have yet to be successfully bred in captivity... Perhaps it's only a certain kind? I think all the "regular" red and blue leg reef hermits are collected from the wild

Ah ok I already had a feeling they wouldn't survive.
Ah well my corals seem to have enjoyed the snack.
