My reef is a 20 gallon long with a custom 10 gallon dump.
I just recently set up a RODI unit which has been a life saver don't know why I never did it before.
My tank was pretty far gone with me just barely maintaining it for my pair of clowns. So I cleaned up my sandbed and dosed my tank for the bubble algae with reef flux and a lot of the algae is dying which really spiked my nitrates but overall the rest of my parameters look good I'll be doing a water change soon once I feel this medicine has taken out most of the bubbles. I'm very excited to make my tank into a thriving softie tank maybe with a couple lps here and there.

Hi Nick and Welcome! Glad you joined. You likely saw Reef Flux label said leave it in tank for 3 weeks... patience is the magic in this hobby... you don't need to get 'Reef Flux Resistant' algae going... I know I still have some bubble algae (and did wait 3 weeks...) but with a planted refugium (back) in my sump and other steps to control nitrate and phosphate my tank has gotten to the other side. I know you will get there too!

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread under Forum > Member Aquariums and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
