Why is alkalinity from 8-8.5 the best for sps? I'm just wondering cuz everything is thriving and growing quickly when my alk is 9? Do they grow faster maybe? Or better colour? Or better polyp extension? Anyone mind telling me?

It's not "the best. " it's a good middle of the road where if you make a mistake and your alk drifts up or down 1 dkh it's no big deal. Higher alk can grow faster but can be harder to manage such as more precipitation and issues if nutrients get too low.
