My Calcium reads 500+, what's the best way to accomplish ? Doing 20% water changes spaced a day or two apart but the level does not seem to react. I have my own test kit, ATI and my LFS. What gives ? All other parameters are good: Ph 8.3, Alk 10.0

What are the tank inhabitants? What does “500+” mean? If it’s right around 500 I wouldn’t worry about it at all, let the tank use it up.

What is the Ca level of your new water? I suspect it may be equally high. In which case change to a salt that has less ALK and Ca. You ALK is also on the high side. Ca at 500 is not a big deal. Your ALK could be if it gets much higher.
