Well I am going to post up a couple of my very large fish for sale this evening. It's time for them to get a bigger living area anyway. I will tell you its tough since i have had them since they were just 1 inch little guys

Sounds like a good plan – I know it's tough. :( On my last major move, I had to leave a 20 year old Oscar behind that I had raised from about 3/4" long. Not gonna lie, that hurt! (Gave the whole setup to a close friend though....that helped cushion the blow.)

I know this is after the fact, but just to say it: It's a little easier to apply the discipline on the front end and just avoid the excessive livestock purchases. ;)

Going slow with your additions in the first place helps – you get to know each addition a lot more and they each individually have time to grow up with you a little bit. It's actually really nice that way, so I don't understand why it's not more popular as a method than it is.

I commend you for putting the fish's well-being above your own desires. It's a bittersweet choice I've had to make myself many times.
