For those of you who have increased your PH and are seeing faster growth, what else are you seeing?

Any change in coloration or cases of STN?

I am running a fairly high PH in the range of 8.25 - 8.5 depending on time of day and number of people in the house but the tank is too new still to properly compare with growth and coloration of my previous tank at the same stage.

Is this something you're chasing? :) I am not actively doing much to keep the PH this high, although I do run two skimmers and a large, well lit refugium as well.

When I go out of town, my alk consumption jumps way up. The acros usually look healthier than when I left them.

I dose kalk, and now have 2 windows cracked. I also bought a CO2 meter for the house. CO2 gets up to 800 when everyone is home. (That’s with the cracked windows.)

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
