Higher PH ?

Hello everyone , my tank is 2.5 months old (will be SPS dominate tank) .
I run refujium with cheato alge in opposite hours from tank lighting.
Ph levels are between 8.15 to 8.25 .
I'm thinking to concocte CO2 scrubber to my skimmer .
I want to reach Ph levels of 8.3 to 8.5 .

1.is it considered to be "dangerous levels" ? especially above 8.3 ?
2. what are the recommended Alk ,Ca and Mag with this higher Ph levels ?
3.Is the CO2 scrubber will have effect on my refugium ? I know that the macro alge consuming CO2 as "food source"

I would not recommend going the CO2 scrubber route with the pH that you are running already which is respectable for an early tank. Keep in mind as the tank matures and the coral grow the pH will end up higher due to the biologic activity of the coral itself. What is more important is keeping the other levels high enough and steady enough for the coral to fall into their groove.

You'd asked some questions I'll answer here:

You can run pH up around 8.5 but I wouldn't suggest anything higher. You'd be getting into tight chemistry challenges that can nuke your tank quickly especially with SPS.

2. what are the recommended Alk ,Ca and Mag with this higher Ph levels ?
This is an important question because the levels is what will really drive growth anyway. Mag: ~1350 Cal: ~450 Alk: ~8.3

The CO2 scrubber can have negative effects just like anything else you manually control. This is why I suggest you hold off on introducing it. If you do it, just remember to have a solinoid to cut off the scrubber at an Alk high, otherwise you'll be treading into the hight 8's which would not be good.

No it wouldn’t be dangerous but I wouldn’t go chasing numbers especially early on. I’ve stopped chasing them and I found my CO2 reactor to do nothing for my nano tank. The average pH of the ocean is 8.1. While a slightly higher pH can show more benefit to coral growth…changes and fluctuations are worse.

Normal pH fluctuations on a healthy IndoPacific reef are 8.2 to 7.8.

Have you had a snowstorm in a reef tank or bound up your substrate with calcium precipitates?

Dangerous may be the wrong adjective. Undesirable comes to mind.
