Ok so I bought some live rock to top off my tank today and to my surprise I found a hammerhead coral attached to the inside of one of the rocks. I am concerned that it will not make it if it stays in the rock because it is not getting any light. How should I go about getting it out without damaging it? I was under the impression that they did not attach themselves to rock, but apparently this one has somehow or another. it is very small, only about half an inch tall and maybe 3/4 of an inch wide. I cannot see the skeleton at the bottom. I would love to save it so any help is really appreciated!!!

Use a knife to detach it from as close to the rock as you can and pull it out
