Got a new batch of live rock and this ran across my hand. What is it exactly?

Lol no way I work to hard trying to keep it alive. I would be so sad after it survived my a.c. going out and my tank running almost 90 for almost a week.

Rock-lady's not too terribly far off ... those claws look a bit on the larger side, but there's a lot about this crab that does resemble a female fiddler. (Only the males carry the massive claw that gives them their name.)

Keep it in your sump or other someplace where it can't reach your corals, and offer small meaty morsels, maybe even dampened pellets or flakes. Most crabs aren't picky - which is part of the problem with crabs.

So how long can they stay under water before they drow? (For lack of better wording)

Don't really know - but I do know that they love to scamper about on some form of land ... when I was a teen, I tried keeping some in a ten-gallon tank in the living room. I'd constantly get calls upstairs from my mother "Something just ran under the sofa ... again!" Our dust-mice were a bit more mobile than most . . .

Can you put him in a clear container and take a pic from the top down and maybe I can see better for an ID, sorry for misunderstanding in the last post
