HOB skimmer question.

I have an internal, but I want to turn the chamber into a fuge.. Anyways what is the water table for a HOB skimmer?? Say I wanted both..
Can I use one in my cabinet? The water level is low in comparison to height of the glass..
Ive already decided I have to build a second cabinet for a larger ato. I do not wish to have to make room for remote skimmers and whatnot.. I also have to figure out where to put the DOS...

Anyways, thoughts??

I don’t think water level matters too much as most HOB have a intake tube. Issue you’re going to have is the return and the waterfall effect. I have a aquamaxx HOB on my JBJ 45 and have to extend the return pipe with PVC and added a bubble stopper for microbubbles
