Hey Folks,

So this past year (end of 2018 and into 2019) I've wanted to set up some tanks. I'd get the gear, get the rock, tanks, etc., everything I need to set up a system. Heck I think I've picked up five or six tanks in this time frame, as there are lots of ideas I want to try.

The problem is, once I get everything, get it prepped, finish the plumbing, I just don't want to add water. Doesn't matter the size of tank/system, I'm at the finish line and I find ways to NOT get it done. (I need a bigger tank! I need a smaller tank! I should do coldwater!)

My first salt tank was in 1991. Since then I've set up and run a couple of brick and mortar and online stores. Now when I just try to enjoy the hobby, I struggle to with the cost / instantly try to monetize how the tank/system can work for me. I have no interest in trying to set up another store, I just want to look at my tank(s) and be content. My current LFS is 2.5 hours away. I can't just pop in and see what is new. Living in the country pretty much means online ordering. I kind of feel like I need to either order a poop ton of stuff at once, or just not get anything, as shipping will kill me if I try to order from here and there. Kind of feel stuck with where I'm at.

Anyone have ideas on how/why/what causes/cures the above condition?

I get it. I grew up a car nut, spent every spare minute in a garage or at the track. I then went to work in the industry for years, now I build show cars for a living. I have no way of meeting my own expectations on a car for myself so I just don't do one. It's a curse. At some point you have to reconnect with the joy you first had. For me it's now all about making someones dreams come true. That feeling of accomplishment that I created something from not much. Best of luck. Find the joy!
