Hole on toadstool coral base

My toadstool coral has a hole on it. I have another one that just started forming tiny holes. The one with the bigger hole has amphipods the decided to take the hole as a home! Please identify what's going on. It would be greatly appreciated. As you can see the crown is fully open and happy. Same as the other one.

Yup that’s my take, it may be tearing a bit, like a split would start in the head, but at the bottom like that seems just to be just extending itself.
Open like that in the pic, nice piece, I don’t see any worries, maybe she might sprout a new one.

Yep. It likely may be trying to reproduce.

Yay more toadstool coral! Though I have way to much in the tank that's so cool. Thank you all!
