I pulled my hammer to dip it because the past two days it went from 3 beautiful open heads down to nothing but theres still a tiny amount of flesh in one head so im hoping i can do everything in my piwer to have it bounce back and i notice a bunch of holes burrowed into the base, are they normal or what could be causing it to die?

Likely, but not positively, boring sponge. I would cut the one remaining head off as close to the head as possible and then saw up the remaining skeleton to see.

Would bone cutters work? I would need to order them still but saw is out of the question

A hack saw is what I would suggest. Bone cutters will unlikely do the job.

Then do a couple of horizontal cuts on the remaining skeleton to investigate.
