I’m going to Washington DC and New York in late July and start August.
Is there any places in that area, a danish reefer must visit?
Welcome to the States! Are you looking to do specifically reef-related stuff or just general stuff to do?

Thank you, I'm looking forward to see "the big apple".
I'm going with my children and grandchildren, so it's going to be a lot of general stuff- but as I are a old reef'er (reefaquariums since 1992), I want to take some time to visit saltwatershops and public aquariums...
P.O.T.O on Long Island is already on my list..

Lot's of good shops upstate in the Rochester and Buffalo New York areas, if you want to take a 6 hour side trip :)

We'll stay 4 dags in Washington and 6 days in central NY, so there will be som time to visit shop and look on signature corals.

If you're in Central New York, consider A Reef Creation (ARC Reef) in Buffalo New York is supposed to be excellent, and you can take the family to our nearly world famous Niagara Falls (a very large waterfall on the US/Canadian border).

If you come to Rochester New York, Caribbean Forrest and The Reef Shoppe are excellent.

I've been to a couple shops in Syracuse New York, they are alright, not as good as what's in Rochester.

I'm unfamiliar with Utica and elsewhere in Central New York.

The National Aquarium in DC is a great place to visit if you have the time!
