I recently saw a freshwater video from Reef Builders on youtube where Jake was showing a different design type for a freshwater tank (see time mark 7:16).
I tried to follow up with the company customaquariums.com whose product was featured on the video but they never responded to my questions and their shipping price for accessories is insane!
I could not find any vendor that sold an overflow similar in design. I was wondering if anyone out there knew if there would be problems with using something like this (noisy, bad flow etc) and if it could be used for a reef as well? Instead of mounting the internal overflow on the tank, they used standard pvc tubing on a bulkhead to mount to a box in the horizontal direction inside the tank. The outside part of the bulkhead went to a standard box where you would do the plumbing connections to the sump.
I am thinking of using this for a new 70 gallon reef I am setting up.
