Yesterday i went to a lfs in my area in search of either a sebae anemone, or a long tentacle anemone. However a different one caught my eye, a bigger one. The guy told me my 90g tank was the perfect size for it as it’ll grow to be about 12” and that would fill in the foot of rockwork i have that’s completely blank on the right side of my tank. The store’s tank was labelled ritteri, which i was completely unaware was another name for a magnificant -_-

How screwed am i trying to get this guy out of the tank, and how long do I have before he takes over? I’m very busy the next couple days and I’m hoping it can wait till next week.

Your chalice(?) coral is screwed, and the nem may walk around and give the business to other things in the tank. Hopefully it doesn't go into a pump or powerhead intake, but stays put. I would be concerned that it will take a walk and make it's mark where ever it lands.

I did move the chalice, but yeah it appears to have stayed put in that spot thankfully. Hopefully that continues.

My main concern is if it’ll grow much larger than what it’s at currently. The guy at the shop told me 12” but it’s already easily that big and I read that it may get to 3ft. This is a 4ft tank.

I have not kept these, but yes they grow and can fill in a large space, in time. You have to feed them to get them growing, so light feedings should keep it from covering everything.

Complete sidebar, but that is a gorgeous tank. Black sand is uncommon, but the scape, the corals, everything looks amazing.

Is that a Watanabe angelfish on the left?

Omg thank you so much!! Yes it is, she’s easily became my favorite fish aside from my pygmy wasps. So much personality and while she is definitely tank boss she’s relatively peaceful and only gets mean when my WTB tang tries her luck with stealing food directly from her mouth XD
