So I’m using IO salt and it has a high alkalinity of around 11dkh. I currently run my tank at 8.5dkh. I’ve read that I can use a acid to drop the alk down. What would be the easiest acid to use and get? Would vinegar work? Or citric?

Muriatic acid will so the trick and than aerate it to bring to back up to the ph you want as it will drop the ph in the water. I know Randy has instructions on here as well for this method!

Ok thanks I just found a post on reef central about doing it. I run a air stone in my salt mixing tank so that should work for the ph. Thanks
