I don't touch the back of my glass. Just the sides and front. You will never see snails on the sides and front of my tank only the back wall it's their haven.

12 years worth of coralline on back, large plates flake off from time to time.

made a mistake when I started the tank..the rock at the back of the tank is touching the glass so I can't clean it all. About 75% from the top down is clean and kept clean. Can't reach the rest otherwise it would be clean as well.
