How do I get rid of this moss problem?

Hello, I'm dealing with algae in my 300-liter aquarium. What type of curly algae is that in the picture? I have a 24/7 UV light, but it's not working at all to combat the algae.
nitrate= 5-10 salifert
phospate= 0.03-0.05 hanna

It might be turf algae or ulva. It looks like ulva on the weir but looks like turf on the rocks. Not much will eat actual turf algae possibly an urchin. Lots of things like ulva. No idea what size tank you have, urchin would be my top of the list to help, trochus or astrea snails for all tanks. Foxface or yellow/purple tang or something like a mimic on medium sized tanks (75g+ some may still outgrow). Same for large tanks but the list grows as tank size increases. UV wont help with this.

Looks like ulva (At least some of it). Tangs will eventually eat it. Also, algae is not harmful, so don't treat it as such.

It has now started to form at the bottom of my coral rocks, so my goal is to prevent it from spreading.

Tangs can be hit or miss depending on how they have been "trained" to eat. I like to try to encourage them to graze by attaching nori to a rock and sticking it in holes in the reef structure. This reinforces their natural instincts. Those feeding clips and things like it that you attach to the glass dont do this, they learn to feed there not grazing on the rocks when algae is available. If ulva they should eventually eat it. I would try a small urchin, just some issues that may possibly come up so do some research.

That’s a heavy load for a 200 ltr tank,I’d get rid of a couple of tanga and scrub the rocks

In my experience yellow and blue tangs won’t touch turf algae only thing I’ve see actively eating it are matrix crabs but I wouldn’t add them

True they wont eat turf but they will eat ulva if thats what it is. The type of algae still isnt for sure. Urchins will eat turf sometimes.

Sorry to be so forward, but those awfully large large tangs in such a small tank. I do hope you have a plan to rehome them when they grow.

I have no idea how these companies name their tanks IM,RS pretty much all of them It make no sense to me a 250 is 54g lol. I knew it wasnt 250g but anyway, I am not getting on the tang police gang just here to give advise on the algae. I do think its too small of a tank though, but I dont want to get into that myself.

250 litres is 54 gallon display + 10 gallon sump.
They are labeling by total system volume, not display volume.... bigger numbers sell better.

But its liters display+sump which is still purposefully misleading. The aquarium world has traditionally advertised by display tank volume. They are using "system" volume to make it sound bigger.

Not arguing with that. Thanks for giving me the insite on how they label their tanks bTW! Not sure why/how I never figured it out, probably because I will never own one. Though WB seems to do the same thing with the 150.4 and such maybe ill own one of those someday.

Can rock be removed from tank? If so, scrub it with peroxide rinse and return to tank.
