How do you know if you are using too much light?

Like the title says. What are the signs of coral receiving too much light?

Typically they will start to bleach and turn white

you can download a lux meter on your cell phone. That's what I did.

I have radions that ramp up and down throughout the day. If I recall correctly the highest reading during the day is in the 40,000 range.

Posting a pic could help us know for sure but yea, if its starting to bleach it is probably getting too much light.
