How far should drain be submerged under water when entering sump?

Hello, how far should drain pipe be submerged under water when entering sump? I have Durso drain, it’s the mega flow slow system, I have DC pump so I can regulate flow, just trying to prevent flow surges, I know I get can’t it silent just wondering drain depth would help. Also does holes in drain help with this? I have my drain submerged about 3 from bottom of sump with holes in drain pipe currently.

Ideally no more than 2” submerged.
