How how should your lights be

Okay cool around what point should I start doing this
Start now, go slow. Get yourself a good tester for Alkalinity. Hanna Checkers are great. Dose until your alkalinity is stable between 8-9, hopefully your salt mix alkalinity is somewhere in that range. Your calcium and magnesium should fall in line.

I also added phytoplankton to display while lights are on. Until it was consumed by filter feeders, the phytoplankton continued growing consuming available nutrients in water column.

I am an all for reef fan, been using it almost from the beginning.

The only sure fire way to know how much you need to dose is testing. You've also got to know that dosing AFR means upticks in alk are slow, 24hrs or so later you'll see the change, so you need to be patient, and you should be testing at the same time of day.

I liked the idea of AFR because in my life and head, water changes are laborious chores that cause me to be unhappy. So I really used AFR as a means to not do water changes. I'm not saying you should do this, that's just what I did.

I still feel like if you're okay with water changes and you do them regularly, your bioload is low, and water changes will easily keep up with your needs.

Yes

Yes!

I am new to reefing and enjoy water changes. I got into reefing to give me something to do. So doing the water change is fun to me so I don’t mind doing it twice a week if need be lol. And also I will take your advice and just for now do the weekly changes and no dosing because I want to keep things simple.

So should I add 1 hammer lol?

I actually just fixed it the problem was my purple was super high I lowered it a bit along with white and now I have a blue I’m comfortable with! Bryan I see you on a lot of post do you have any experience with hammer corals?
You didn't fix anything. There was no problem to begin with.
Your light doesn't need to look blue just configure how you like to see it, also "purple" light is good for photosynthesis, so that should be up as well.
My honest opinion on it, crank "purple" up, all the blues, put some red and green and white depending on how you like to see the tank, then you adjust the total power.
