I have a new cycled 60 gallon tank. I have 1 Longnose hawkfish, and was wondering how long I have to wait to add other fish. I would be content to wait weeks or months. The issue that I’m contemplating is that I’d like to add a red Flame Hawkfish and 2 Banggai Cardinalfish soon as the two species are a rarity and the LFS’ have been havi mg a very hard time acquiring them over the past year.

What should I do?

Depending on fish size I’d wait at least 10 days so the new bio load can equalize.

Or……. If you have the opportunity to purchase these 3 ideal fish. Do it. Feed lightly for a few weeks, checking ammonia levels every day or so. I bet you’d be fine. Any slight issues, water changes on a 60g tank, a breeze.
